The AirAsia is having promotion again.
Damn! Flying to Bangkok is only RM19.50 on the exact date and Flight that I had book with the price of RM69.99!!!!
Moreover, the airport tax has been reduce too....
iayoh...really rugi lar......
Whoever have plan for Hari raya, Christmas and New year and even Chinese New year, You can book now...the traveling date is valid till end of March 2008.
I wish i could have something up for the New year holiday as we used to have it every year :(

Last night after work, Me and Rain walk to KLCCC for the bookfest.
They offer a lot of books for the choice of Chinese, English and Malay.
Moreover, there are Cheap CDs as well....
I brought a Nat King Cole and a Light Lounge Jazz for only RM30.00.
There are more DVDs, VCDs and CDs available in cheap price.
eh...shouldn't me suppose to talk about books???
I have a few target books to buy but unfortunately, the arrangment of the book fair is a bit confusing. I cann't really find the book that I am looking for.....
(Sorry to Yoon Chooi, if she is reading this..cos she is the person incharge of this BookFest :P)
Rain brought a few encyclopedia for the culture and civilization.. (ehm..sound very high deep :P)
I just manage to buy a cooking book for pasta, written by a japanese chef.
Oh, i have to inform, i love the japanese way of pasta cooking so much.
When i saw this book, i knew that i have to buy it :D

Time to Face the Truth!

I has been trying to avoid medical check up which I suppose to do it every year.
The last time i did was 4 years ago while I was force to do it for the Japan visa application.
Dunno why but just dun feel like facing the truth of my health :P.
I think a lot of people are having the same way of thinking too :)
Anyhow..I finally get it done by today!!!
Whew.... It is not as bad as I tot.
I got my blood test, urine test, x-ray and ultrasound done in 3 hours...
Lets keep our finger cross for a good result.
But........
A bad result has been out this morning, i just found out that my right eye is weak!!!
I can't read some of the letter on the board!!
Gosh, my eye sign has always been my proudest part of me (i dun mean the size lar..i know it is small, but it use to work perfectly!!!)
I dunno what to do as my left eye work perfectly whereas the right eye is bad....
Any optician that reading my blog now? please give suggestion...
So, Health Screening result will be out next week.....

3 Movies in 1 Afternoon

I seldom watch Movie at Home..but I watch 3 movies continuously on last saturday ~!!
Oh God, I cann't believe I did that.
3 Musical Movies..ehm...it should be 2 and a half..cos Music and Lyrics cannot be consider as musical..
So, I watch Music and Lyrics follow by Dreamgilrs and ended with Moulin Rouge...
I dun know that Hugh Grant and Nichole Kidman can sing that well...
3 movies are really worth to watch.
Music and Lyrics is sweet and warm like having a hot coffee in the sofa of a cozy afternoon.
Dreamgirls and Moulin Rouge are fabulous and stunning like chivas and taquila at the clubbing night.
Moreover, you must listen to the song which is the best part that enlighten the whole movie.
Although Musical Movie had never been a very commercial movie..but i do hope that more gorgeous movie like this could be produce to bring some refreshment to the movie industry.
Whoever wanna watch this 3 movie, i have the DVD....

SMART Route :)

Smart tunnel- Besraya Highway
Center of KL to Sri Kembangan in 30 mins
Recently, i discover the best route to go home without jam~!!!
Seriouly, it took me 30mins to arrive home...My home at Serdang!! the most terrible traffic jam black spot......
So, it started from the entrance at Bukit Bintang, next to Time square....
Smooth and straight heading towards the exit at Cheras.
Out from Cheras exit, follow sign board to Sungai Besi, UPM Besraya Highway...
Again smooth and fast, arriving right infront of the round about at The Palace of the Golden Horses.
We skip the black spot of Jln Tun Razak and Sungai Besi-Seremban highway.....
Arriving home before sunset no longer be a dream~!!

I heard about this b4, the non-traditional piano class which u do not need to do theory part but just enjoy playing the music.
Me and my sister has been thinking about it long time ago since we both learn piano b4.
I guess it is not hard to pick it up again.
But it just the matter of time and money..heheheheh...
Money is always the matter i guess :P
Now...I am planing....planing and planing.......

Saturday Night~mare

Ehm.....we are suppose to enjoy ourself with PPL's new toy~!!
Unfortunely, it was ruin by a bastxxd who is soooo stupid yet careless...
I am sad...PPL's toy was sent to repair just after a few hour of joy we had..
Now, we need to wait for the surgical operation done then only we can have fun with it again.
What a nightmare~~!!!!

Plan Change :(

Big group of us suppose to go for water rafting tomorrow morning....
Unfortunely, due to the heavy pour everyday and hence rising of water level in sungai selangor, we have to postpone our trip......
But....we have contigency plan.....
We are going to play with PPL's new toy tomorrow..
very interesting and exciting.........
Wonder what is her new toy???? hihihihihih......

4 days fate

A story about me in a 4 days fate....
I lost it~~!!!! how could I lost it~~!!
Sorry my dear sister..i lost the pearl ear ring that u brought for me....
I was wearing it happily this morning.....but after lunch, i found that one side of the ear ring gone........ I dunno where and when did I drop it but most probably happen while i am crossing the busy road right infront of toyo....
The ear ring is cute...and I love it so much....
but our fate is just 4 days.......
To ease my pain......
I change to a new pair of ear rings.....

Adventurous Lunch

As usual, we walk to KCF Building for lunch.....
Right infront of Shangri-la Hotel...
"bra~~rch...bra~~rch....."a strange sound came from the sky.......
While we are still trying to figure out where the sound come front, a big branch of tree falls down right above us!!!!!!!
Without a second though, we start to run..... (actually, i was thinking where to run cos i have no idea where the tree is going to falls.....) luckily no one get injured.....but that was really CLOSE!!!!!!
Hyew......What an adventurous Lunch experience...

Experience in SMART tunnel

Well well well....after years of waiting, the tunnel is finally open. It doesn;t really matter to me on the time it launched. What I know is just another multi billion mega project with some brilliant idea of engineering.
What I am trying to say is, the tunnels does matter to me now as I had moved to Serdang since March. After the opening of the Tunnel, the traffic seems to be smooth (so far for this 2 days). It takess me 30mins to reach home even in the rush hour of after work and not forget to mention that I can have a couple of extra minutes to sleep in the morning (a few more minutes does count in the early morning right??!!)
I drived through the tunnel on the first day of opening. My feeling...ehm....long....
Long means the whole tunnel is really long, i keep on driving and driving..thinking whether i should switch on my CD players (no reception inside the tunnel for radio) or i will get out from the tunnel soon...The tunnel seems to be never ending. Without any jam, distance of underground from Jalan Tun Razak to Sungai Besi is about 4km and takes about 4 minutes drive.
The next morning, I took the Tunnel again and following the sign board to Jalan Sultan Ismail...Surprise, surprise, I get out right infront of Sungai Wang!!!! This really surprise me as it actually cut through all the traffic jam towards KL town and getting out in the middle of KL~~!!
Overall, I am impressed!! I just hope that the toll charge will be reasonable or else, everything back to square one....People will not utilise the Tunnel due to high cost.
More to share next time, just sneak out for a refreshment or else Alvin will kill me soon...

The SMART Tunnel (Detail)

The unique feature of this project is the 3 km double-deck motorway within the stormwater tunnel. The operation of the SMART system works on the three- principle mode of operation based on the flood discharge at the Klang River/ Ampang River confluence and the operation status of the motorway.
The first mode, under normal condition where there is no storm or low rainfall, no flood water will be diverted into the system.Under the second mode, SMART system will be activated and this happens when there is moderate storm.
When the second mode is activated, flood water is diverted into the bypass tunnel in the lower channel of the motorway tunnel and it is important to note, that, up to this stage, the motorway section is still open to traffic.
At the third mode of operation the motorway will be closed to traffic. With extensive and effective monitoring stations, when the third mode of operation is needed, the motorway will be closed to traffic. Sufficient time will be allocated to allow the last vehicle to exit the motorway before the automated water-tight gates are opened to allow flood water to pass through. The motorway will be reopened to traffic within 48 hours after the closure.
Tunnel SafetyVentilation/ escape shafts at 1km intervals: these powerful air ventilators will constantly renew the air and maintain the air quality within the motorway. To protect the ventilation system during the flooding, the systems consist of a series of shafts each containing an exhaust and fresh air injector. This design enables the fans to be situated outside the SMART tunnel to create a longitudinal flow in the tunnel between the shafts that permits the air in the tunnel to be continuously renewed and to enable extraction of the exhaust fumes. The feature also allows for smoke control in the event of a fire.
Equipped with fire fighting, telecommunication and surveillance equipment at 1 km interval.

The SMART Tunnel (Introduction)

The Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) project was incepted primarily to mitigate the recurring floods in the city of Kuala Lumpur, the financial, business and commercial hub of Malaysia. However, at the design stage of SMART, the dual purpose concept was born from the ingenuity of the project proponents and the motorway tunnel was integrated into the system to relieve traffic congestion at the main Southern Gateway to the city centre.

Themotorway tunnel will provide an alternative route for motorists from the Southern Gateway, i.e. KL-Seremban Highway, Federal Highway, Besraya and East-West Link entering and exiting the city centre. This will reduce traffic congestion at the Southern Gateway leading to the city centre. The travel time will be reduced significantly. For example from the Jalan Istana Interchange-Kampung Pandan the expected travel time is a mere four minutes compared to ten to fifteen minutes using the existing roads.

PRACTICAL RAFTING TIPS

All rafters will be given a safety briefing before the ride and will be shown basic backward and forward padding techniques. Always check that the helmets and life jackets provided fit you well and are not too tight or too loose. Your life jacket will buoy you in the eventuality of the raft overturning. If you've over-turned close to the river bank, don't use your raft paddle, as you may hit someone else. Do not attempt to use the paddle as a lever against rocks as you risk getting hit by it.

The following are some points to remember:
1. Bring a change of clothes. A warm-up jacket is also a good idea.
2. Wear well-fitting shoes or diving booties.
3. Jewellery which cannot be secured firmly should not be worn while rafting.
4. Those wearing glasses are reminded to use an elastic sports holder to anchor their spectacles.
5. Contact lens users are advised to wear spectacles instead, in order to cut down the risk of their lenses getting contaminated by river water.

International Grading Scale of River Difficulty

Grade I Moving water with a few waves and small ripples.

Grade II Easy rapids with waves up to 1 meter and wide, clear, channels that are obvious without scouting. Some maneuvering is required.

Grade III Rapids with high, irregular waves often capable of swamping an open canoe. Narrow passages that often require complex maneuvering. Rapids may require scouting from shore. Boaters in kayaks should have the ability to Eskimo Roll.
