只是想提醒大家，如果你想通过internet 在英国租房， 请你们要小心，刚刚新闻报告了一件我也亲身经历过的事情！通常很多人会通过gumtree这个网站来租房，我在还没有来英国之前，也在这里找过房子，我找到一间蛮 漂亮的房子，屋主自称是个医生，人在爱尔兰工作，要我拿出证据证明我是可以有能力还房租， 他才会飞回来给我看他的屋子！ 叫我到western union 过账会给自己或是朋友！！然后scan receipt 给他！！ 后来我觉得很可疑，就放弃了这个deal。刚刚新闻报告， 原来有很多人应为这样， 而钱被提走了！！大家小心！！！最好就不要给advance payment!!
For those who try to rent a house/room in london, we normally go thro internet! Just b4 i get started with my current job, i was so desperate to look for a house while i am still in msia! I came across a very popular website gumtree and i found something really interesting and 'too good to be true' unit. I contacted the landlord and he claim that he is a Doctor working in Ireland and he need me to show the proof of my financial b4 he fly back to london to let me see his house.
Here come the suspicious part...
He requested me to transfer my money back to myself or anybody that i known to show that i have the cash available for the house and scan him the receipt.
Due to this is my first time of renting a unit, i am not sure how true it is and finally i let go the deal.
Today, while i am watching the news, this incident came out!!! It is actually an internet fraud and there are alot of people who lost their money after providing them the receipt!
phew~~~ lucky me!!!
Please becareful when next time u deal with something thro internet, especially when it comes to advance money transfer!!!!!

what could happen if the money transfer to your own other account? he cant do anything with the receipt.
ya, there is a bar code in the receipt and apparently those ppl manage to transfer that money to their account!!! lots of ppl kenal the fraud thinking that cheh..i transfer to myself jeh mar..but it could happen!!!
